CD "Review": The Reasoning - Adverse Camber

I'm notoriously crap at reviewing albums. Despite my voracious appetite for music in all its forms, I just can't sincerely juggle with the metaphors and similies and general vocab to do a decent job. It's not like reviewing movies!

I was also a little bit nervous about this release; new lineup following two well listened to albums in the form of Awakening and Dark Angel. Mr Graeme Hayter (management) had also fuelled excitement by constantly "bleating on" about how great this album is.  ;)

Well, I'm glad to say that it meets and exceeds expectations. A cracker of an album! Not taking anything away from the other members of the band, but what stands out for me is the strength and power of Owain's guitar work. Truly Stunning! Maria Owen's backing vocals are a revelation. She's an asset to the band. I've found Tony Turrell's keyboards strangely subtle on this release as opposed to the overt keyboard sounds of the previous two albums.

"Take me in a new direction" indeed.

What's important is that everybody gives 110% and cranks the volume up to 11. Quality stuff! 10/10

Just don't mention Wayne "Coverboy" Woodley

Adverse Camber is available from the band's website from 3rd May;
